Above the mist,
below the stars.
A three-level house in the pines, forty minutes from Yosemite.
Alpenglow on the high Sierra
Some mornings the valley fills with mist. Some evenings the high Sierra turns pink. In between: the lake, the park, or nothing at all.

Room to gather.
Room to disappear.
Two primary suites on different floors, a soaking tub under the pines, a movie room with its own fireplace, and a long table where dinner tends to run late.
Explore the house

Every evening,
a different sky.
The house looks out over miles of forest to the far ridges. Every one of these was taken at Base Camp.

Named by two climbers who fell for these mountains.
We got engaged high on Stately Pleasure Dome in Yosemite’s high country, and years later we were married in the park. When we found this house in the pines on the road to Yosemite, it could only be called one thing.
It’s where we rest between adventures: long days on granite, slow afternoons at the lake, and back to the deck before the sun goes down. We hope it does the same for you.

How the days tend to go.
Coffee above the mist
Some mornings the valley fills with fog and the house seems to float above it. Take your cup out to the deck before anyone else is up.
Down to the lake
Marina Beach is five minutes away. Rent a paddleboard by the hour, or just claim a stretch of sand.
Lunch over the fairways
The Grill at the Pine Mountain Lake golf course is open to everyone and seven minutes from the house.
Everyone finds their corner
A nap in a primary suite. Kids take the movie room downstairs. Someone lights the stone fireplace.
The sky does its thing
Dinner on the deck as the ridges go gold, then pink, then a blue you’ll try to photograph and can’t quite catch.
Hot tub, lights off
Nearly three thousand feet up in the pines, the stars come all the way down to the treeline.
Tucked away, close to everything.
On the quiet south side of Pine Mountain Lake, between the beaches and Groveland’s Gold Rush main street, just off the highway into Yosemite.
Approximate drive times, not counting the Pine Mountain Lake gate.
